Maya had been smiling to herself for a few weeks before this picture was taken but she manage one especially for the camera for this picture. Mayas also been managing the odd giggle now and then which is just so contagious! The first smile she gave us just made everything so worth while. She could finally truly show us when she was happy which turns out to be all the time. We are so lucky to have such a happy and content beautiful little girl.

This month we have started to expose Maya to many new things. We started with short trips out in her pram and carrier, building up to longer visits to family and friends, taking Rexy on walks in the park, a trip to the aquarium and shopping. Here is a picture to celebrate Maya's 1st shopping trip. She loved it! A trip round ASDA was the most exciting thing in the world. She loved looking at all the colours, people and movement.

Maya's Daddy works as a computer games designer and enjoys playing a wide range of games in his free time. This picture was taken on their first gaming session playing 'Minecraft' where I think they were building a mine track.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
By the end of her 4th month Maya's appetite had gone into full swing. She was still Breast milk fed ether by EBM or Breast. Her intake had increased to 250ml per EBM bottle feed and she was feeding 5 - 6 times a day. As a result of this We decide we would try her on baby rice early, that way I would be able to keep up with her demand for milk and not have to start formula feeding her.
This was Mayas 1st taste of baby rice...
This was Mayas 1st taste of baby rice...
and this was the result....
We therefore decided to hold off on the weaning for a little while longer and back to the breast pump I went. I really don't think I could have managed without my 'Medella swing breast pump'. Over the past 4 months we have become close friends!
