Our Home Ed Journey
In February 2018 We decide as a family to start our Home ed journey.
Since February Maya has made lots of progress across all areas and has enjoyed exploring, learning and developing new interests.
We have created our own programme or 'curriculum' changing the focus of Maya's learning to devlop her independance and functional skills.
This term we have enjoyed working on:

Horse riding

Wheelchair racing

Where possible we like to get out and about in the community and create hands on experiences.
This has included:
Trips to a farm each month
Trip to the zoo
Museum visits
Travel to France and Cyprus
Day out in London
Day out in York
Camping trips
Church visit
Shopping trips - building confidence and independance
Inclusive Sports day
Run Disney weekend at Disneyland Paris
Nature walks
Fruit picking
Vegetable growing
Stanwick lakes
Parks and Nature reserves
Maya continues to work hard at her therapies and all Maya's healthcare professional have seen great progress in her overall health and well being. Maya has made fantastic progress with her Physiotherapist.
Maya continues to have input from her specialists including Education psychologist, play therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. She continues to bew reviewed by her health specialists and consultants including Neurosurgery, Neurology, Urology, Kidney specialist, ENT, Sleep clinic, Orthopaedics, orthotics, Eye specialists and Community nursing team.
