Neurology Appointment - 14th August
Today we saw Dr Brown Mayas neuro pediatric consultant. It was a mixed appointment and Maya has been started on Epilim - Sodium Volporate to try and get her seizures under control. We are starting at a low dose to run along side her existing medication increasing it up to the maximum dose within 4 weeks. Dr Brown also expressed concerns about the floppy episodes Maya is experiencing but believes these are not seizure/epilepsy related. He has contacted Mayas Neuro team at Addenbrookes to see if further investigation is needed. Dr Brown as expressed concerns that Maya maybe experiencing intermittent posterior fosa compression possibly a result of an intermittent shunt malfunction or programme issue with her shunt. It is possible that an MRI scan may be needed in the near future.
